Our love story started completely by chance—at Louisiana Mudfest of all places.
It all began when my friend Carson invited me to come along to Mudfest. She was looking for some girlfriends to hang out with while the guys played with their mega trucks.
When she told me I couldn’t bring my dog Millie, I almost backed out completely. After some back-and-forth and a little convincing from Carson, I finally agreed to go.
Then came the best part: I pulled up to the mud park in my
truck, ready for whatever the weekend might bring. And that's when I met Billy. He was the first person to greet me when I arrived—and I could tell right away that he wasn’t expecting some girl to show up driving a big truck. We instantly hit it off! We spent the entire weekend talking, laughing, and getting to know each other.
We just had an absolute blast.
As the weekend came to a close, neither of us wanted it to end. So, I offered to help Billy clean up after the event... No one had ever offered to do that before, and I could tell he was pretty surprised, eagerly accepting my offer. We ended up heading to his hometown of Napoleonville to help him get everything sorted, and that’s when things really started to feel serious.
I never left. We started dating just 11 days after we met, and from there, it was just one crazy, beautiful adventure after another. We fell *madly* in love and before I knew it, Billy proposed to me one day before our 4-month anniversary. It felt like everything had fallen into place so perfectly, so quickly.
Our story started with a little bit of mud, a lot of laughs, and a chance meeting that neither of us will ever forget. And now, as we get ready to say “I do,” I’m beyond grateful that I decided to let Millie stay home with her grandparents that weekend—because if I hadn't, I would have missed out on the best thing that ever happened to me!
